More Repairs
14 December 2011 | Hopetown Harbour
Sunny and windy
Slowly working my way through the job jar.... fixed the watermaker (again) and hopefully fixed the leaking toilet....cork gaskets are not a great idea in the tropics...they dry out and need to leak until they swell up again.... the rubber ones simply melt into a puddle on the floor!
We've put in a couple of offers on properties here on Elbow Cay, and will wait months to hear the results...seems that no deposit is required until a price has been agreed to, and MAJOR background checks are mandatory including bank references, police reports, references, professional financial analysis..... no wonder there are so few legal immigrants in the Bahamas... I wonder what would happen if Canada did the same screening...
Empty beaches and beautiful sunshine!
Tonight is "Wing Wednesday" at Cap'n Jacks... Louise will join the "red hats women's group" to gamble away the evening.....
The Christmas lights are up, and the live caroling has begun around the village...
Off to Marsh Harbour in the next few days for more boat parts, and re-provisioning...
