Sunny
This will be my first post in quite a while!
Last year was busy building the house in the Bahamas, then returning to Ottawa and selling our home downtown....
WAY TOO BUSY!
So we're living at the lake, renovating an apartment in Perth, and yes! getting ready for another season of sailing and building in the Bahamas...
I'll try to keep up the blog this winter...

Back on the water!
11 November 2012 | Green Turtle Cay
Windy (25mph) and hot
A busy trip south to Nassau, lots to do there, then a delayed flight to Treasure Cay and a late night ferry to Green Turtle Cay. Pretty tiring!
The boat has the normal things needing replacement and/or repair, but we're back in the water floating on a mooring ball, slowly unwinding from the busy summer, and enjoying the quiet times. Long walks on deserted beaches, simple fresh fish from the locals, new and old friends arriving as the season slowly begins... half of the stores and restaurants are opened, and things will only get better after the US Thanksgiving passes and more folks find their way south.
Hurricane Sandy created an enormous amount of "beach debris" which we are collecting in the hope to use it to decorate some of the trees on our property on Elbow Cay for Christmas.... It should be fun to see the site again after the recent storm and start to plan for the building(s).
We'll stay here for a few more days and wait for a safe time to head south!
It's nice to put away the socks and shoes and return to "barefoot on the beach".
leaving on a jet plane (hopefully)
29 October 2012 | Ottawa
7C and overcast
Most of the scrambling has been completed... the cottage, the farm, the house, Perth Factory, the cars, the tractors, the pets...
And hopefully we fly to Nassau tomorrow morning!
The Hurricane Sandy blew through the marina, but everything on our boat survived... now it is beating up NYC so I hope our flights out of Toronto are not cancelled.
Two days in Nassau then back to the Abacos to start the boat repairs... the marina is jammed with boats "on the hard" so our launch may be delayed for a couple of days while things get sorted out. Nothing to worry about!
Hopefully there will not be too many things broken/requiring repairs...
Looking forward to the blue skies and beautiful water!
Bye, bye snow....
