The damage

David H some rain
Once the tide had left us high and dry I was, with great trepidation, able to inspect the hull. The tip of the port keel had a minor scuff but the tip of the stbd keel had a serious dent and delamination of the fibreglass about 6"to 8" across.
Fortunately, when I had first fitted out Grey Dove in 1988 I had filled the keels and the centre section of each hull with closed cell foam. It was this foam that was restricting the water ingress sufficiently to enable myself and the bilge pump to keep the boat afloat.
When I did it back in '88 all the pundits said "You don't want to be doing that, tut, tut, etc.etc." . Well.... now who's a clever boy then?
