They tell us that the best place to leave a sailboat in Yellowknife is on a mooring, so we had to figure out how to build one.
It is a series of grader blades from a road grader that are attached together and tethered by a chain up to a mooring ball. Not a problem to build, but a definite problem to transport it to its final location.
As you can see the date is 11 June and the ice is finally off the lake. Lift in is in a few days so we need to get the mooring in asap.
Luckily at about 9 pm today we were assisted by a large power boat and were able to drag it on its deck and drop it in its final location in houseboat bay.

Although it is 4 June there is still ice on the Great Slave Lake so we offload onto the cradle for the time being. Lift in is scheduled in a few weeks, so we have time to clean her up and get our bearings. Being our first boat there are lots of things to figure out.

Griffin arrives in Yellowknife after making a side trip and stopover to Vancouver to drop off the small power boats and pick up 'ghost rider', a C&C 30. The truck arrived late in the day and the trailer grounded out getting into the yard so we had to hire a large tow truck to pull it through. Decided to offload the next day.

The truck leaves the yard in Toronto. Schedule is to go to Vancouver first and then up to Yellowknife. Expected delivery in 10-12 days.

After having surveys completed and making the decision to purchase her, we finally made the trek from Yellowknife to Toronto to see her loaded on the truck for the long journey home. This was our first sighting.
