Ghost Town
09 April 2017
With the departure of a great deal of boats yesterday, the Hope Town anchorage looks quite deserted. Last week we had at least twenty boats in the anchorage, this morning there are three of us. Most of what you see now are spring break family charters or vacation charters, but most of your cruisers are starting to head north. This is actually a pretty nice time to be here if you can do it because you are not dodging boats at anchorages trying to find good holding.
We will today head back further south and maybe anchor at Lynyard Cay again. We are hoping to go to Pete's Pub but will have to go in tomorrow morning during high tide.
Chewie, Greg and I took a ride in the dinghy through Hope Town Harbour and around the north side of Elbow Cay. Some of the places you can see by dinghy are simply amazing. The inlets that are tucked up in the mangroves that give way to deep waters or the turtle sanctuary that hides around the corner.......that is called exploring. We have yet to get to Buckaroon Bay or Tilloo Pond. So much more to explore.
