Plan A.....Plan B....Plan C
25 April 2017
It is ways good to be flexible with your planning as the weather could quickly change things or the comfort of the crew.
When we left Dani and Bryan at Little Harbour yesterday, we intended to go to Hope Town (outside anchorage) and clean the bottom of the boat again and get a few groceries. We would be leaving Tuesday afternoon for Treasure Cay and crossing the Whale Cay Cut Wednesday morning an drew heading home.
Well.....when we spoke with Jim and Tom (from Regent Point) on Escape Plan we found we could catch lunch with them before they left for home so we headed to Marsh Harbour. After visiting with them and a look at their catamaran (and benefitting from their grocery purge), we went to get other groceries for the trip.
On our return we ran into a couple of boats we had met back in the Exumas and discussed their plans for going home. They were crossing to Florida which is not our desired cross, but if the weather pattern changes we will do it just to get to the states.
Next we got in the dinghy and visited a boat near us and found they were from Williamsburg, VA and they were heading out Thursday. Their plan is to go out the Whale passage and not cross the banks but stay out on the ocean to Moorehead City, NC.
Our plan is to cross the Whale tomorrow or Thursday and then cross the Bahama Banks and head to Charleston, SC. We are intrigued by the plan of the couple from Williamsburg as it gets us a lot closer with a couple more hours. If we agree to that, at least we will go with someone and together we will figure it out.
So ..... stay tuned.....this could all change again but as it looks right now we have the best weather window from Wednesday to Sunday. Greg is awaiting a call with Chris Parker hoping to make certain that the jump to Moorehead will allow good use of currents and not be more work than we intend.
Just give me the "Tranquil Landing".
