Looking good
24 April 2009 | Antwerp
Another week-end; another trip to the boat. Many hands make light work.
What a metamorphosis; Guapa almost looked like a boat again last time I saw her, this time she was all boat. My baby's back.
Whilst progress has been very good, a lot still remains to be done.
Today we fitted both forward toerails (port & starboard). This was a ginormeous job. Whatever else I do in life, removing and refitting toerails is not one of those things. Not now, not ever. We also fitted the pulpit and pushpit. I cleaned and fitted the stanchions.
In short: tomorrow we lay cork. Everyone involved is getting excited; morale's definitely on the up. The deadline's now a 'worst case scenario'. Bar an earthquake, fire or flood Guapa will be ready for launch on or about the 19th of May. Yes! I love it when a plan comes together.
Knackered and tired; I need sleep but I'm too excited to.
More soon - launch is 24 days away.
