This is another of the reasons we love this boat. Flat deck with great visibility.

Teak Work

As you can see, Lisa has been very busy doing teak work. She is very good at it. This huge cockpit was one of the reasons we love this boat. Anybody got a "frisbee"?

Yes, it does look like you're very good at it Lisa. Do you have any tips? Cx

Back in the Water

We finally made it back into the water. In this picture you will see the bowsprit is missing. The guys are putting the finishing touches on it and in a few days we will be on our way back to the marina. Man it seems like Gypsy has been in the yard for a looooong time. Oh, that's right, she HAS! Uuughh

OUCH!

Ouch is an understatement. Just when we thought we were just days from splashing the boat, we arrived at the yard only to discover the owner of the yard had backed a trailered boat into our bowsprit. The impact broke one of the bow pulpit rails and damaged some of the teak on the sprit. I guess we will not be splashing her for a bit longer. The sprit was repaired and we also discovered some rot in the sampson posts that we would have not know about if the sprit had not been damaged. Things happen for a reason. So I guess we will be replacing the posts too. Heck, Why not?

New Bottom Paint!

The bottom paint went on right after the epoxy coat. They have to paint it quick so the paint will "grab" the epoxy. This method creates a good bond between barrier and bottom paint. We are getting closer to helping Gypsy "break out" of the yard.
