Does it get any better?
Jeff
05/08/2012, Sarasota Bay Anchorage, FL

Sarasota Florida has a great anchorage right next to the downtown area. Lisa and I were just winding down watching ANOTHER great sunset after a nice day of exploring the Main street area that was full of pubs, restaurants, shops, and even a farmer's market on saturday.

Life is good!

Anchor for the night

We are fortunate to have a few good spots around Tampa Bay to drop the hook for the night. On this night we have a great view of "The Pier" in St Petersburg. We really love it in St Pete. The skyline is very nice, especially at night. And there is always something going on around here.

I am considering leaving the staysail stay off my K38, Hull #71,"Galiot" How has this worked out for you? I have always felt that the staysail is more of a niusance than an advantage, this boat is new to me so I would like your input. Thanks, Bill

Lisa was having a good time at the helm. The great thing about this boat is, once the sails are balanced, she sails herself.

We just purchased "delight" hull number 42. We live in Apollo Beach. So far love the boat

Hi Jeff Have you rigged your staysail? I think we have all the parts but lack a how to guide. I'm about to call a rigger to have a look. Thoughts?

Out for a sail
Jeff

We were out for a nice sail in Tampa Bay. As you can see, even though Gypsy is cutter rigged, the previous owners had her set up as a sloop to free up some deck space for coastal cruising. We will eventually convert her back to a "cutter" before we go long distance.

A Boat Needs a Name!

After the whole de-naming / re-naming ceremony, we finally decided how we were gonna put the name on the stern. One of the great things about the Krogen is that she has a nice BIG teak name board on the stern. We decided to go with raised letters so they would "stand out". Once again you can see Lisa working hard.

Renaming Ceremony

Of course we had to change the name of our boat. I am sure most everyone is aware of the "name changing ceremony" that one must go through. We really enjoyed the "de-naming"ceremony, followed by a proper christening. Note: Point the champagne bottle away from EVERYTHING... My Dad just so happened to be in town visiting from Texas and was more than willing to assist using his deep "radio" voice that has served him so well over the years in the radio and television business. Thanks Dad!
All went well and hopefully we did everything right. Time will tell.

Best wishes. That's a fine looking boat.
