Time for an update

Since the last post the weather has been goo except for last week when Alison and Chris came out to visit. Almost as soon as their plane touched down the rain started and it was on and of till they left. They are not great sun worshippers so it didn't really make that much difference for them. We had [...]

Back again

I suspect everyone is wondering where we have been. Shortly after our last post we decided that living on board was not the best option and that it was time to put Haggis Hunter on the market. We then started looking at rented accommodation and found the place we are now in. It is a very nice quite new [...]

Woops it's 2 weeks since my last post

Didn't realise it had been so long since I posted something. We are settling in to having a car and now trying not to use it too much, but the freedom is great. We went to a Country and Western lunch and afternoon at Silves a small town a bit west of here that has a dramatic castle in the middle of the [...]

Just a quick update

Peter
Last night we went to our first evening at Johnny Hoopers and it was even better than the Sunday Lunch. The food is excellent, and the service matches. Johnny does the musical entertainment which was very good with a wide range of music covered with a very interesting musical quiz thrown in, we didn't win but were not last with 10 out of 15. We got back to the boat at midnight which is very late for us, tired but having had a super evening.

Today we made a major expedition with the bikes up to one of the main supermarkets which went better than we expected, with us managing to get further up most of the hills than we had expected. Mind you the new escalator that takes you from the old town square level almost up to the town hall level made a big difference.

For today above read yesterday, didn't get round to posting yesterday. This morning we decided to experiment with getting the holding tank (sewage tank for the ex submariners reading) pumped out, to find the pump was not working, so we had to pop out to sea to do it by hand. This afternoon the cockpit spray hood and tent came back from the repairer and he seems to have made a very nice job of it. Just as well as there are storms forecast for the weekend, one of the local big game chaps has cancelled two trips so far because of the forecast.

Todays picture is Johnny Hooper playing for us on top of our table, sorry about the quality but no flash on the I Phone and of course we forgot our camera.
