Time for an update

Since the last post the weather has been goo except for last week when Alison and Chris came out to visit. Almost as soon as their plane touched down the rain started and it was on and of till they left. They are not great sun worshippers so it didn't really make that much difference for them. We had [...]

Back again

I suspect everyone is wondering where we have been. Shortly after our last post we decided that living on board was not the best option and that it was time to put Haggis Hunter on the market. We then started looking at rented accommodation and found the place we are now in. It is a very nice quite new [...]

Woops it's 2 weeks since my last post

Didn't realise it had been so long since I posted something. We are settling in to having a car and now trying not to use it too much, but the freedom is great. We went to a Country and Western lunch and afternoon at Silves a small town a bit west of here that has a dramatic castle in the middle of the [...]

A few more steps forward and not too many back this week. We bit the bullet and got a representative company to get us our Fiscal Number and within a few days we were over the first hurdle and I now have a nice document giving me a temporary number till all the formalities are complete which may take some months. Now I can open a bank account, register a car and hopefully get a proper account for the internet, which will cost us less and be more convenient.

So we are now seriously looking for wheels, as ever there is the choice of and ex UK car, or a local one, what size and age to go for, and then of course how does all that fit with what is actually on the market.

We are getting a little better with the bus system though we got it wrong today again and did a bit more involuntary sightseeing. I have found an AP for our I Phones that allows you to view documents on the phone so we both now have the timetable and route map to hand, which helps as you can't get any more maps from the bus offices.

Maggie has picked up her first cold and whilst she is over the worst she can't shake it off, and now |I have it too, though so far not as badly. Hopefully next week will se us both feeling better.
The weather is holding out quite well though the evenings are definitely getting cooler. We are still hitting the low 20s during the day and mostly it is pretty cloudless though we do have the odd cloudy day. The forecast for the next fortnight looks much the same, though I will need to look out some long trousers for the evenings.

Well that's about it for the present,
