Time for an update

Since the last post the weather has been goo except for last week when Alison and Chris came out to visit. Almost as soon as their plane touched down the rain started and it was on and of till they left. They are not great sun worshippers so it didn't really make that much difference for them. We had [...]

Back again

I suspect everyone is wondering where we have been. Shortly after our last post we decided that living on board was not the best option and that it was time to put Haggis Hunter on the market. We then started looking at rented accommodation and found the place we are now in. It is a very nice quite new [...]

Woops it's 2 weeks since my last post

Didn't realise it had been so long since I posted something. We are settling in to having a car and now trying not to use it too much, but the freedom is great. We went to a Country and Western lunch and afternoon at Silves a small town a bit west of here that has a dramatic castle in the middle of the [...]

Well that caught me by surprise

15 December 2010 | Home at last
Peter
After feeling unwell a couple of times on the Saturday and Sunday after we got back Maggie made an appointment at the doctors for me and ten days later I have just got home. I was diagnosed as possibly having had a heart attack so ans ambulance was called, in the middle of Scotland's worst snow storm, and I was whisked off to the local hospital where after various tests the diagnosis was confirmed. After more tests I was told I had to have an angiogram which could only be done in Edinburgh so I had to wait till last Sunday for a bed to be available. Even then I was bumped of the list on Monday because of an emergency. Any way I was done first yesterday and had a stent put in one artery, the others were fine, and was allowed home this morning.

Maggie has done wonders, got the car back on the road, dealt with the insurance claim etc etc, but poor Millie is stuck in kennels till mid January when we will be able to get back to the Algarve.

The doctors say that as long as I keep taking the pills I should be OK for years to come so that is encouraging.

They say the snow is coming back tomorrow, but I won't be taking up a shovel, the doctors were saying that snow shovellers way out numbered smokers over the past fortnight
