Biggest lightening storm that any of us could remember hit our boat last night around 12:00 p.m. Lahaina time. The wind blew at 35 knots. We detoured to northwest to avoid the worst of the storm. We luckily escaped from the lightening. We are all safe and sound.

At 6:00 a.m. this morning, we found that our #2 reef line parted. The only surprise is that it didn't happen during the storm. After looking closer, our #1 reef line also left us. Fortunately we had anticipated that beforehand and had installed a secondary line a few weeks ago. We are sailing on a single reef in about 20-25 kt of wind with our main alone and motor.
We should be home in about 8 hours between 15:00 - 16:00 Lahaina time.
