Rainy and Cool
When we last left you, we were anchored off what the chart states as "White Crystal Beach", well it turned out to be "Bumpy Beach. The wind changed direction from south west to west which caused it to be very wavey. We did not sleep well, but moved on as planned getting underway at 7:40 AM to Annapolis(we had to wait for the fog to lift). After the fog lifted it started out as a rainy over cast day. Then the rain let up, the winds were light and waters calm. We were motoring against a 1-1.5 current. We came upon a tug transporting military tanks from Argentina. Our grandsons would have liked to have seen them, however it was a little eerie to me (Deb). As we traveled, instead of staying in the channel which had many turns for the commercial traffic, we decided to follow a couple of trawlers that were going from point to point in straight lines. This saved us a lot of time. As we got close to our turn to go to Annapolis, we were greeted by a gigantic car carrier and a freighter. They were very intimidating. We arrived in Annapolis at about 3:00 PM. The next task was to find the opening for Spa Creek (Note to self "Next time get back into the channel and go buoy to buoy to find Spa Creek"). With all of the talk of hurricane Joaquin, we are thankful that we were able to grab the last mooring ball well back at the end of Spa Creek. This will hopefully give us adequate protection if Joaquin does make it to the Cheasapeak.

We are looking forward to going to the boat show on Oct. 8-9. The plan is to stay here through the boat show and to do some scheduled maintenance before heading to Norfolk and points south. Our blog entries may not be as frequent until we start traveling again.
