Warderick Wells

We left Shroud Cay Jan. 9th with sunny skies and 10-15k of wind for our sail to Warderick Wells, the gem of the Exuma Park. This sail gave us a great opportunity to practice our "eyeball navigation" ie. reading the water depth by the color of the water. Must be we did ok, we didn't go aground.
We ended up staying a week here enjoying the hiking, snorkeling, paddleboarding and happy hours on the beach. One day we hiked up to BooBoo Hill a spot where cruisers place plaques they make with their boats name and date. We found our friends Ed and Nancy's from 2010 and placed ours right next to it. The snorkeling has been great. We have seen Groupers, Barracuda, Angel Fish, Parrot Fish and even a Shark to name just a few. The happy hours on the beach have been a great way to get to meet the other cruisers and share stories.
Today, Sunday, has been very blustery with the front that just went through, so we spent time on the boat watching 2 movies we rented from the rangers office and reading. With all of the wind and sun it has been a joy to see our solar panels and wind generator keeping up with our energy usage. We haven't run the generator at all, except for the day we ran the vacuum down in the cabin. It is amazing to see the output of our new wind generator. The old one was pretty lame.
Well time to bring it to a close. We hope this finds everyone doing well and surviving the winter. Tomorrow we are off to Big Majors Spot and the swimming pigs.
