Easter Sail, Single Handed, Leg 1

Depart Steveston @ 1630 bound for Silva Bay. Overcast. Wind directly on the nose. Motored. Half way across the straight, hoisted new staysail and bore off. Killed motor and sailed under staysail alone. Wind NW 20. Tried tacking under autopilot and stalled. Ended up hove- too. Boat speed of zero in 22 knots of wind. Very stable but rolly.

Sun setting, turned motor back on and motored into Silva through leeward entrance. Anchored @ 2030 and rowed to pub for a couple Guniess.
