19 November 2008 | Hopetown, Elbow Cay
Sandra arrived and after recovering from her Abaco Flight Services flight from Nassau with a rum drink, we spent the night in Marsh Harbor then sailed to Hopetown on Elbow Cay yesterday. Sandra brought winter weather with temperatures dropping to the shivering mid-60s over night as the third cold front of the week approached. The weather should return to tropical this weekend to allow some snorkeling on the reef at Fowl Cay Preserve. The Hopetown striped lighthouse is still wound by hand every two hours, and still lit by a kerosene light.
