Little Harber, Great Abaco
29 November 2008
Continuing on the Sea of Abaco tour, spent a night anchored in 5 feet of water behind Snake Cay (I thought there were no snakes here, must be named after its discoverer, Sir Arnoldo Snake'). Didn't like where the anchor was so I dove down and moved it by hand. Can't do that in Maine. Saw my first big sea turtle as he swam under the boat. Sailed today to Little Harbor, which was founded by a sculptor and his poor family, who lived in a cave until he built a house. His son now runs Pete's Pub on the beach. Today was their Saturday wild boar roast. Going to settle down here for a few days writing while yet one more cold front blows through on Monday.
