I think we are leaving in the morning

Finally cleaning up the last things that need attending to. We would have already set sail but were waiting on some work that Brian (the canvas guy) to finish up our new lee Cloth. He did a great job!
We finished provisioning yesterday and were just putting everything away for the Superior crossing and Laurie announces: "I have water under the foot pump". We have two "foot pumps". One pumps fresh water from our 200 gallon water tanks and the other is "sea water". The problem today was the fresh water pump. No problem, we have a re-build kit. BUT, I was not planning on using it before we left the dock! I grabbed another kit from Barker's and quickly rebuilt it. Not a big deal, just a few o rings and two diaphragms. Once we got into it though, it was apparent that one of the diaphragms had a small split in it. Probably from being dried out from not being used for two years.
We are now going to "function check" all of our pumps including the manual gusher pumps. We were planning that, but that is another story.
Under way tomorrow...Apostle Islands next we hope.
Just about ready to go :O

He-don-ism (hí:d’nįzəm) n. the doctrine that pleasure is the highest good and that moral duty is fulfilled through the pursuit of pleasure.
After sailing Superior and Northern Lake Huron for the past 9 years, it's time to cut the ties and explore further. The plan is to leave Barker's Island, Superior WI first week in July.
