Last Bahamian Beach Walk
05 April 2011 | Norman's Cay
Richard
We intentionally made some quick overnight stops at some places where we had not previously visited. We always like to have "backup" options in the event that we are on a passage and we need to make a quick stop. If that quick stop involves going into a harbour after dark, there is no substitute for having been there once before.
On our return trip to the US, we stopped at Norman's Cay... we took a quick look at the sunken airplane. Norman's has some really nice beaches.
We jumped from Norman's to the anchorage at the Eastern end of New Providence Island (the Island of Nassau). It is a very rolly anchorage, but we found Wifi.
Then we jumped to Morgan's Bluff at the Northern end Andros Island (the largest and least visited island in the Bahamas). It is a nice little harbour, but not a good place to be when the wind blows from the North.
