Dominica, not what we expected.

Dominica is a 3rd world country. We expected that and all of the problems that come with a 3rd world country.
We arrived in Prince Rupert Bay.
We planned on taking a mooring ball, to support the local community. We were greeted by a skiff who was willing to guide us into the anchorage. We declined. We didn't need a guide, it was a straight shot. We didn't expect to find that all mooring balls were taken and there were lots of anchored boats. We found excellent sand bottom in shallow water.
We were concerned about anchoring so close to shore for security reasons. We didn't expect the PAYS guys to be running security patrols all night. We were quite safe.
We'd been warned about boat boys. We didn't expect that only one boat boy would approach us the entire time, and he was very pleasant when we told him we didn't need any fruits.
The stores in town were not well stocked as one would expect in a 3rd world country. But, they had enough. And, everybody seemed so friendly. While walking down the street, we learned about the proper way to cook and serve bread fruit.
Dominica is on our list of places to visit again, because we barely scratched the surface seeing the interesting sites in this country.
