We had several days to kill before we needed to fly back to Texas and the anchorages in Portland Maine are not particularly friendly or comfortable.
So, Marc brought us to this very friendly and comfortable anchorage. The locals would say that it was down-east from Portland.
Nicki and I did a little exploring via kayak.

Gloucester is a charming town with a reputation for fishing (from the movie). However, our unofficial count has the cruising/pleasure boats out numbering the fishing boats 2 to 1.
Still, fishing seems to be a thriving industry in this town.
The water front homes definately add to the character.

We anchored in Gloucester for the evening and saw the lighthouse that George Clooney sailed by in the movie 'The Perfect Storm'.
Gloucester has a lot of character, but isn't as Salty as we had assumed from the movie. And, we are thankful that there was no storm.
Although it has been a little foggy, the weather has been quite pleasant, shorts and t-shirts during the day and sweatshirts at night. Our sympathy goes to those of you back in Texas with 100+ degree weather, right now... : )
