Hot, Hot, Hot
Hello all. Since we have been back in Trinidad it has been work, work, work! It has taken 3 weeks to prep the boat for
a new coat of deck paint. A lot of the time was spent on my hands and knees sanding and sanding, then masking in windows,
deck hardware and the like. I told Chris at one point that I was sure I didn't have any finger prints left. Chris painted
the deck on Oct.21 but the cockpit has issues and needs to be done again. We plan to get that done next week.
The bottom of the boat is still not dried out and we are getting a quote to have the barrier coat sanded off. Hopefully
that will get done this week and we can soon start work on it.
We have not seen much of Trinidad except boat yards and
Marine shops since we have been here and we have heard there are wonderful things to see. We may decide to postpone our
voyage back home for another year but no final decisions will be made until we talk to a boat broker and see where our
best option for selling the boat is.
Living on the boat on the hard is not a lot of fun. I'm sure we are up and down the ladder 15 times a day. If we are on
the ground what we want is aboard the boat and vice a versa. Then of course there is the bathroom issue and when you go
for a shower your feet get dusty getting back to the boat. I do a lot of cooking in the crock pot as it dosen't heat the
boat up too badly and with the boat being covered in we can not BBQ. Trekking to the store every day for ice (and beer)
is becoming a chore. The temp has been 95 to 104 every day since our return. The only relief is when it rains, which
happens most afternoons, but not all.
We do not have internet on the boat right now so it is also a pain lugging the computer to a location where we can get
wifi.
Well thats my wine for the day.
If this blog uploads properly there will be pics of the boat and Chris' work shop, which doubles as our patio.
As always, be well and be happy.
