Mariners Cave was an amazing experiance that I will never forget. The entrance was a hole under a sheer cliff, and we had to dive underwater to get into the cave, so it was pretty exciting. When I dove under, I saw my brother's yellow fins waiting for me, and I swam like crazy, just like my dad told me to. When we got inside, we had to pop our ears repeatedly,and it got foggy every few minutes as the surge pushed and pulled water into and out of the cave. It was really cool! Unfortunately,our camera went wakko, so we didnt get any good pictures--the fogging messed up most of them. But the attached pic is one from inside the cave.
But, for a school assignment I had to write a poem, so I wrote it about mariners cave. Here it is;
The Entrance, by Rivers Ann Hoag
one quick breath anticipation boils one quick glance a nervous exhale one quick wish as head goes under slight pain slight worry slight distraction flippers flip fast water flows slow adrenaline rushes sees hope, bright yellow waiting legs kick eyes widen lungs ache
