Mike
I left Savannah early Thursday morning and had a pretty uneventful trip to Beaufort. Although Beaufort isone of my favorite stops, they were calling for storms to move through the area starting Friday night so I decided to press on for Charleston.

There is a swing bridge just up from the Beaufort Downtown Marina called the Lady's Island Bridge. This bridge is on a restricted schedule and does not open between 7:00AM and 9:00 AM. If I was to have any hope of making Charleston before dark, I had to get through that bridge before 7:00, which meant before daylight.

Consequently, I was up and off the dock by 6:30 and got through the bridge without any trouble. The day was warm and sunny and started off with no wind at all. The wind would rise and fall throughout the day and kept changing directions.

As I was nearing Charleston, it settled in from the south and started to blow over 25 knots. This continued until after I arrived at Charleston City Marina, some 70 miles from Beaufort. I will be here until next Friday, as I have a doctor's appointment. This will give me time to relax and spend time in one of my favorite cities in the world. I'll still make a few posts with some new pictures. Here's an old one that I already have.
