No...not the radio guys. These are friends of mine that I worked with on the Yankee Freedom. They live in Big Pine Key and agreed to make the trip with me from Key West to Boot Key Harbor.

We had a pretty good day although the wind was on our nose for most of the day, which made for a lot of motoring. Mercifully, the winds shifted enough and our course changed just enough that we were able to shut off the engine and sail for about the last hour of the trip.

Bob is a licensed captain with sailing experience but Tom had never sailed before. He took them helm anyway and did a fine job of keeping the sails full.

After we checked in at Boot Key, Bob bought dinner at Burdines. Here's a picture of Tom at the helm under full sail.
