Hi folks, this is my first entry, and I am sure many of you old salts will read this and grimace, and maybe even smile of the mistakes I make being the same as the ones you made when you were learning the ropes.

I will post pics soon, but I am 29 and got the opportunity to buy a "Hood 23" with coach roof and a pulpit of 3 feet so, mathmatically she is 26 LOA and Cutter rigged

I Bought her for $4000, as the owner wanted to step up to a larger boat and was keento get rid of it. Being coach roffed, it has full headroom, (and I'm 6'3.)

As you will see in the pics (soon to come) she is a good looking boat (Normal Hoods look SO ugly. And has a Marine Radio, Galley, CD Player, fresh water to the sink, as well as saltwater to the sink. She also has a sea toilet and I installed a brand new diesel inboard. 8.5hp

She is rigged well, and has been sailed from Sydney to cairns. So she is no junker. She even has a deck winch and chain.

That said, she is tired, and I am getting to get her ready to her former glory, so I will blog you (and photos) as I go along.

Please post encouragement or discouragement as I welcome any feedback I get. or any help I get, I value learning from others. It saves alot of money

Anyhoo Tomorrow (when the sun comes up) I intend to paint and antifowl the tender. and will pic it all.

Well, I thought it might be a good idea to spruce it up a bit. (it came with the yacht). So I went to Norship and got some primer, blue antifoul, and some white gloss to finish the inside, and above the waterline.

$275 later I went to where I have the little 8ft tender chained to a tree.So I taped her up, gave two coats of primer, then one coat of anti-foul, and will give the 2nd coat tomorrow.
