Another Staniel Cay Yacht Club Party
05/05/2008, Staniel Cay, Exumas

We have left Staniel Cay, but not without another happy party!
We left late the next morning, god knows why, and stopped at Elbow Cay for a beautiful sunset and a good night sleep. This morning we lifted the anchor at sunrise 6:30 am, the weather could not have been nicer, I sun bathed and looked at the coral heads on the Yellow Bank. As we arrived at the Harbor Club, in Nassau we immediately ran into Marie Jose and Louis, what a nice surprise.

Staniel Cay
05/02/2008, Staniel Cay, Exumas

We are still at Staniel Cay, it is pretty windy. Paul helped Joan Mann with her dining room light. It had to be hung with a rope and a piece of drift wood. Centering and leveling took almost the whole morning the light looks really nice. I picked up 4 loafs of fresh bahamian bread, baked by Rhonda, it is delicious. Now we are waiting for better weather to head to Nassau.

Hand Feeding Bonefish
04/29/2008, Compass Cay Marina, Exumas

Yesterday we went back to Compass Cay Marina. This time I did not swim with the sharks, instead I hand fed Tuckers Bonefish. Tucker the owner of Compass Cay Marina has tamed a variety of fish that hangs around the Marina and waits patiently for Tourists. Tuckers Bonefish really got into the hotdog buns we were holding about an inch over the water. Other fish like Mangrove Snapper, Angel and Parrot Fish, Grouper, Romora (a sucker fish) and his pet nurse sharks showed up to see what all the action was about. Tucker has created a private nature habitat, including a conch sanctuary, around his Marina and Island. There is an $8 docking fee per person, but you can spend the whole day with Tuckers fish swim or snorkel with the fish and see reefs right there in the Marina next to the boats. There is also a wonderful beach a short walk from the Marina. Compass Cay is definitely worth a visit and something so special you don't want to miss on your visit to the Exumas.
