We're In!
25 May 2017
The boat was launched on Monday. I went to the marina on Tuesday to see how things looked and to attend to some basics. I reset the lines the way I like them, and tried to install a bracket in the lazarette to keep the wiring out of the way. Let's see if the adhesive holds; I don't have high hopes.
I also wanted to install the new stand-offs on the boarding ladder, but the gnats were out in crazy force; they were going in my ears and up my nose. No thanks. Turned out to be a quick trip.
The new lifelines should be ready this week. Brian told me they measured last Friday, and he was expecting the estimate any day. One issue: it looks like they unfastened the forward end of the starboard line, but didn't reattach it. The clevis pin was also missing. Hmmmm.
And here's a picture of the big new improvement: the chartplotter on a swing arm.
The plan is to put the sails on the boat, maybe Friday afternoon, then go sailing on Saturday, as it looks like that will be the only non-rainy day this Memorial Day weekend.
