Feet up, Fancy free
22 February 2016
The boat work took a 3 day hiatus while Jody & I did some cruising to a marine sanctuary/preserve about 25 miles North of La Paz. We anchored in 20 feet of calm water in a little harbor called Caleta Partida, where we did some kayaking and enjoyed peaceful sunsets.
While there I practiced using the SSB High Frequency radio (which cannot be done in a marina). DIY types like me are always a bit nervous with technical gear, but when the Amigo Net controller in Zihuatanejo MX 1200km (650nm) away said my signal was strong, my confidence in the system would was confirmed. Also made some progress figuring out how to send & receive emails and requesting weather files (aka GRIB files), as this will be part of our communications when crossing the Pacific in a few weeks.
Life is good aboard Huzzah!
