Been a few days, been without wifi. Moved around a bit, had a few "adventures".

May 17th, 09 - Getting it all together

May 17th, 09 - Getting it all together

We have been out the Rhode River to the West River to the Bay and back, twice! Once on a calm calm evening by myself and once in a bit of a blow with Linda's mom and her friend. She handles quite well. We are pleased. Our crew arrives tomorrow and I am trying to figure out how to get him at the bus station in Baltimore tomorrow early, without a car. Maybe a friend will come through for me.

I have spent the last few days working on electronics. With numerous "talkers" (that's what they call thing that produce NMEA data, and numerous "listeners" (that's what they call electronics that take the data and use it, I needed a special box to hook them all up to. I have a Brookhouse multiplexer (Mux for short). Well, now I have:

the GPS talking to the Mux
the Mux talking to my computer and Fugawi
the Mux talking to the radio
the Mux talking to the radar

I need to get the Autohelm into the look. I would also like to get the computer talking back to teh GPS - but no luck so far.

We have been doing our best to find places to stow gear - too much gear, to little space. But we need it all, honest!

Tomorrow night we hope to be at the dock beside our friend Peter's house on the Magothy River. Then Tuesday am we head north east.

We are getting anxious, excited and just plain antsy! Tomorrow the adventure begins.
