Sunday lunch here we come

06 November 2011 | Berkely Sound, Falkland Islands
Chris Harris
We are just a fraction of a day over eight days out from Piriapolis approaching Stanley. We are currently crossing the mouth of Berkerly Sound about 10 miles out from Stanley.

We have been motoring for the last few days in fog which hasn't been the most enjoyable experience. Last night at sunset the fog lifted and I thought we might have a fog free approach to land but when I came back on watch at 3am the fog was back. We did eventually get some breeze though and have been sailing for a little while now.

Our, big, sistership 'Pelagic Australis' is already in Stanley, having just returned from a trip to South Georgia, and have promised us Sunday lunch at 13:00 local; so we have a deadlline. You can read their blog on Sailblogs too just search for Pelagicaustralis.

I'll ask the nippers, Dylan and Tom, to write something on their impressions of their first sea voyage once we get in, but as we are about to gybe towards the entrance of POrt William I'll sign off.
