This is a great site!! Keep it up - the photos give us a a huge chuckle. This boat is one surprise after another - she will keep you on your toes - and we look forward to some great sailing...
Yeah...Steerage!

Wow, what a day. After a couple months of Dave rebuilding and fine tuning the steering, then fixing the engine (one system at a time)...we have RPM's...a full 52 horse power and steerage.

Dave attempting to decipher all the wires and tubes.

having the bottom foot of mast holding water was a bit of a suprise when I jiggled the wires and it dislodged a clot of muck and out it poured, notice the crew grabbed the camera first.
The Mast Step

Today we went down to the boat, to replace the old water pump- when turned on it made such a racket and all the lights dimmed. We bought a new jabsco 3 outlet pump with all its workings encased...not like the old one with a wheel and belt system on the outside. I got the old one pulled out and pointed out a extra water hose under the counter that didn't connect to anything...a lot of that going on in this boat! Which side tracked us to pulling out the home made box around the bottom of the mast and pulling up the floor to see what we had under there....Arrrggggg! What a dogs breakfast!
OMG.......

We have been having trouble starting the engine lately....three guesses why! Dave finally was able to get the ground wire off the back of the engine where it had been attached and what did he find?....a very corroded wire that he was able to pull apart with no effort. Well, once he replaces that wire, the 2 brand new batteries will probable work alot better. Next project will be finding out what that loose black wire is hanging off the back of alternator.....that will be for another blog!
