ERIC and The Bumpy Sea
06 January 2016 | Prince Rupert Bay - Portsmouth - Dominica
Frank & Mandy
We had a great day yesterday. Plenty of walking and an excellent French lunch in the Saintes.
Today we did some early morning shopping and checked out at 09.00. We raised the dinghy and set sail at about 10.00 heading south to Dominica. Once clear of the Saintes the seas were moderately rough. We had the main reefed and used the full staysail.
It was a tough windward beat across thee Atlantic swell. We made good time and reached nearly 9 knots. Mandy felt ill and had the bucket on her lap all the way! ERIC the Ever Ready Intelligent Crew (Raymarine Autohelm) behaved well after a severe talking to a few days ago. A spare ERIC is on his way from the UK with Spray.
Anchoring was tricky with too much weed to get a good holding so we picked up a mooring.
We have booked some Dives with Jorge for Friday.
Best news of all is that Ties' tests are all clear. We are so relieved! Hopefully he will be allowed sailing again!
