Off to St. Maarten or St. Bart's

We are up early again with the intentions to sail to St. Maarten. I check the weather forecast and know that in the morning that there will be some strong winds, 18 to 20 knots E - ESE and 4 to 6' seas. We hoist the anchor and motor out of the bay, I set two reefs in the main sail and soon we are going 6 to 7 knots towards St. Maarten with a little bit of a roller coaster ride with the NW seas! (Continued...)

Good Bye Antigua, Hello Nevis

Up bright and early we let go the dock lines and motor out of Falmouth Harbour at 7 AM. By 8 AM we clear the west end of the island, clear the reef and raise the main sail with plans to sail to St. Kitts. We have a nice 10 to 15 knots of wind E - ESE and 3 to 4' of following seas to take us the 42 NM where we eventually decide to pull into Qualie Beach on the NW tip of Nevis. We had read in the guide book that there is a nice little hotel there and a good restaurant, and it was a better location to anchor for our next day trip to St. Maarten. (Continued...)
