We left Puerto Vallarta yesterday afternoon and traveled overnight, past notorious Cabo Corrientes (which was pretty tame last night) and into Bahia Chamela. Tonight we're anchored behind a little island called Isla Pajarera. It's a nature preserve and there are lots of boobies (both the brown and the blue-footed varieties) sitting on the tops of tall cactus plants. We snorkeled a bit, but there was enough surf to agitate the sand and make the water too cloudy to see much.

Some swell is rolling through the small anchorage, so the boat is rocking a bit (and I guess we're not used to it after spending maybe too much time in marinas lately). Tomorrow we'll move to the northern part of the bay, a couple of miles away, where the water might be a little flatter.
