Breakfast Surprise

This morning while I was in the midst of my sink bath (showers occur, but not daily), I heard a nearby boat motor. Looking out the porthole window, I discovered I had a visitor in an open skiff who began knocking to get my attention. I threw on a shirt and pants and stuck my head out the companionway hatch.
"Want any cinnamon rolls?" asked the smiling gray-haired woman. "How much?" "Three dollars." "Sure, I'll take one."
While I got money, she pulled a plastic-wrapped roll out of her insulated bag.
As she put her outboard motor in gear and began to head toward the next boat of three anchored boats, she raised her voice to add, "They've got dried cranberries!"
And thus, along with my granola and strawberries, my breakfast included a still-warm cinnamon roll, sticky-sweet and quite good.
I traveled a relatively short 25 miles from Meyers Chuck to Frosty Bay, which is a small inlet off of Seward Passage. There are three other boats here. This afternoon I launched the dinghy and ran the outboard motor for awhile. It was the first time I've used it on this trip, and it was the first time I'd tried running it since I disassembled and cleaned the carburetor before I left Seattle. Happily, it ran better than it has in quite awhile.
Tomorrow I'm going to Wrangell, where I'll stay a couple of days before moving on to Petersburg. I'm hoping that while in Wrangell I can get my phone problems solved so I can get emails without having to find a WiFi signal.
