Back in Petersburg

Yesterday (Saturday) I traversed Frederick Sound and returned to Petersburg. In contrast to the previous day, the sound was flat calm and the wind was more consistent, although too light to be of any use to me. Significantly, I was happy to see the sun and a partial blue sky for the first time in many days. There was significant fog along the coastlines but I didn't get into any of it until I was only a few miles out of Petersburg, and it wasn't much bother.
This afternoon it started raining again, with a high temperature of 59. Tomorrow is Monday, and I'm going to stay here until about 4am Tuesday, when the early morning tide is supposed to provide favorable currents through Wrangell Narrows. But the constant rains and resultant river outflows have messed with the current predictions, so I don't know what I'll really see. Tomorrow I'll kill time by doing an unnecessary load of wash and buying a half-gallon of milk, then I'll take a walk in the rain. The sun is supposed to peak back out on Tuesday, and the wind is supposed to be light W to NW, so maybe it'll be a nice travel day.
