Decided to move
25 July 2015 | Foggy Bay, AK

Yesterday, despite heavy rain at times, I found a nice hiking trail on the ridge above town, and spent some time in Ketchikan's city museum.
The weather cleared today, and tomorrow is supposed to start out good, so I decided to use these two days to travel. I'm in cozy Foggy Bay, near the Alaska-Canada border. The entrance was narrow and not well recorded on the chart, but I stuck to the middle of the channel and had no problems. I launched the dinghy and rowed around the edges of the cove, my squeeky oarlocks scaring off any wildlife that might otherwise have been viewable on the shore.
Tomorrow I'll get an early start to Prince Rupert, BC. Strong southeasterlies arrive again on Monday and Tuesday, and unless the forecast changes I may stay in or near Prince Rupert for two or three days. Dock space there is tight, so I called this morning and was told there'd be room for me Sunday night be probably not after. Thus I may end up at Pilsbury Cove, across the channel (and where I anchored on my way north) for a night or two.
