Sometimes you get to sail...

Today I was able to sail for ten miles, a little under two hours. That's the longest single sail I've had on this long trip. A west wind was blowing into Milbanke Sound at 15-20 knots, which made for a nice down-wind ride towards Shearwater, where I made a quick fuel stop before continuing another 10 miles to this evening's anchorage, a small inlet called Fancy Cove. It's nice, but a little too small for good swinging room, and a couple of other boats were already here when I arrived. As I get further south, I expect I'll be seeing more boats in the anchorages...it is mid-summer, prime vacation time, and as I get further south I'll be running into more families on their summer cruise.
Today's total mileage was 56. Tomorrow's will be the shortest in a while, a little over 40 miles. I want to make distance during this good window. Current forecast is for southerlies toward the end of the week, and I'd like to be south of Cape Caution by then.
