Good bye Sines
20 April 2013
Sat 11:30 weather good
Set off from Sines, after sitting in the marina for 6 months, the weed took about a knot off our speed - only able to get 4 / 4 ½/ knots motoring, but we had a good sail for 12 hours. Then we turned the corner at Cape Vincent, the wind went and we rolled our guts out for the rest of the journey.
The night watches were better this time and we weren’t getting too tired hand steering. I had remembered to charge my Ipod, which surprisingly helped with the seasickness, managed quite well tell the last hour and within sight of Portimao, last when I had to hug my beloved “Brian” The yellow Bucket.
As we came through the mouth of the sea wall, we could see Vulcana at anchor, she had set off on Wednesday AM, but there was no sign of the Spanish boat that had set off a few hours a head of us.
So 26 hours after we set sail from Sines, we lay at anchor, it was hot on arrival at 1:30, very tired but very happy.
