8.15 am - Friday 14th October - at the Equator! As Pollywogs - people who haven't previously crossed the equator we had to organise our own 'ceremony'. We threw the ritual buckets of sea water over each other and dressed up for breakfast of pineapple and banana. I read some info I had downloaded earlier in the day and realised later we could also have organised certificates from a company in the states. The day had started off cool and fresh. Skip Tony commented on how suprising he found that, imaging it would be always sultry and hot in this region. Later in the day it turned out to be incredibly hot and humid, with no thunderstorm to relieve the oppressive heat. Don't think sailors should ever comment on the weather!
