Cool Thanksgiving in the Keys

28 November 2013 | Marathon Florida
George. Cool windy
The temperature last night dipped to 57 deg F which is pretty cold for here.
Today I see boaters sporting parka's , tuques , and foul weather gear.

I did have to wear a hoody to walk the dog...

On the up side we had the first chance in a year and a half to try out the reverse cycle function of the air conditioner. Glad to report it works very well and a comfortable 72 deg F was achieved in just a few minutes.

Out on a mooring ball we would have been contemplating baking bread, cookies, and casseroles to keep interior temperatures up. Running the oven has the side effect of heating the salon. Since we are plugged in at the dock the comfort food and associated calorie overload can be avoided. Ha Ha.

On the down side it looks like the wind will blow steadily at about 25 knots for the next few days precluding any sailing during the US Thanksgiving vacation time.

Planning on Turkey at some of Kathy's Tai Chi friends house. (Dirt dwellers).
Should be fun and of course way to much to eat.

Eric Stone band is playing this evening at the newly re-opened Dockside Cafe just a short dingy ride away. We may end the day up over there.

Life is good.
