Having left Sri Lanka on the 18th February, we tried to take the short route to the Seychelles and a couple of days later we went through the Maldives. It was very early in the morning and we were more than 10 miles from the nearest land. We were lucky enough to see about thirty maldivian fishing vessels catching tuna with pole and line. Unfortunately it was neither bright nor near enough for photos but we could see them just bringing in lots of fish. Quite a sight... and a few days later on 23rd February, we crossed the Equator. As you can see from the photo, we were sailing at more than 10 knots. Once in the southern hemisphere, we could smell creole food but not only...
