The engine went in on Friday with out any major gliches. We got a rough alignment done and today the feet got mounted in. It is now a matter of hooking up hoses, wiring and sea trials. We hope to crank the engine over on Wednesday and maybe be out of here this week. I will post again with the finished product pictured before we leave.

RePower Update

Progress is coming along on the Re-Power. The engine bed has been painted and the mounting brackets have been installed. Today they are doing some electrical work and getting the
exhaust system ready. Tomorrow if all goes well they will drop in the new engine and begin to get everything aligned and hooked up. We might be out of here as soon a Friday. I hope, as it is beginning to get real cold. We have two heaters that keep the boat around 70 but the condensation is a pain to deal with. Maribeth and the baby are doing good. We went to a extensive sonogram last week and got some great pictures. We found out were having a girl and couldn't be happier. All the toes fingers arms and legs were thee and we had a good report. Were fixin to get to Corpus Christi late January.

Half Way There.... well a quarter at least

So the weather Gods were smiling upon today and we were able to get the engine pulled out the boat today. Around 8:00 this morning we were towed over to the lift bay and the crane arrived within a few minutes of us being moored. It was a four man operation with two riggers below, one on deck and the crane operator. Everything went as smoothly as possible and after three or four attempts the engine came through the hatch without leaving any scratches. The brackets the engine mounts to will have to be moved and then the engine bed can be painted and will be ready for the new engine. The exhaust system will have to be replaced, going from 2.5" to 3"

The boat isn't in total disarray but the is a definite "camping" feel when we hit the rack. The new engine might be in by the end of week after next if everything goes smoothly....knock wood. MB an I are going to hold up here over thanksgiving and have cornish game hens. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the updates.
