We are in Svolvær. It is overcast and rains at times. What a change from the glorious afternoon we had yesterday, waiting for Nico to arrive from Italy! The mountains around us where as clear as if etched on crystal. We had lunch on the terrace of Bacalao, a well known restaurant, albeit somewhat costly, right on the edge of the yacht piers. The kids are getting on well, this being their first experience of a long cruise. They had to stand two very long motoring days to get here, through the inner fjords, not even able to walk more than a few paces on the small island we moored to to spend a quiet night on our way. They are learning the most relevant knots and helping us grandparents in our tasks, giving us precious suggestions on how to better complete them... Now we will buy the last few items of food and hopefully head towards our nex stop, may be the nearby incredible athmosphere of the fisherman village of Henningsvær.

Back from skisail expeditions, Best Explorer is sleeping in Tromsø Gjestehavn, waiting to be prepared for a cruise to Lofoten islands and later to Svalbard again.
|
Today Best Explorer sailed from Tromsoe to the Lyngen Alps with a hired crew to bring skiers directly to the base of these beautiful mountains, full of snow.
Weather is gorgeus and temperature just right, some -5 centigrades at sea level.
Fair winds and good skiing, Best!
