Ode to Old Age

We made it back in time to do a little work on a project we have going in the back yard: a retaining wall. We have bought 4 palettes of bricks and we are about to lay them. We've hired a young man who is a very good worker and he has been ever so helpful. Today I (Jay) went to the ophthalmologist's office [...]

In late June, Anita’s shoulder and my eye healed sufficiently to make a little journey on Karina C.

Gone Cruising

05 June 2010 | Nanaimo B.C.

At long last, the new riser arrived. Allegedly, it was 316, but it certainly hade my magnet quiver a bit. Could be the welding. We set off on Thursday morning. We had to bleed the fuel injection pump a couple of times to get things running OK. We also had to run the engine with the compression off to bleed the HP side as well.
We made it to Pirate's Cove which is a 2 hour boat ride South of Nanaimo. We spent 24 hours there where we walked all the roads and the park trails There was a little rain as we headed back to Nanaimo. We arrived back at 1600 and Jim picked us up with the truck after 1900. A nice start to our cruising season.
