Ode to Old Age

We made it back in time to do a little work on a project we have going in the back yard: a retaining wall. We have bought 4 palettes of bricks and we are about to lay them. We've hired a young man who is a very good worker and he has been ever so helpful. Today I (Jay) went to the ophthalmologist's office [...]

In late June, Anita’s shoulder and my eye healed sufficiently to make a little journey on Karina C.

Getting ready to head to Puerto Escondido

18 February 2011 | Agua Verde
Jay
2/18
Last night was a lovely evening. Phil and Anna from Seawind 2 came over and we played music and talked through the evening. As the sun went down the sea turned into a nice colour of wine.
This morning the hills are a bright red as the dawn light starts the day. There are low clouds over the west shore that are soon to burn off. We are having a little trouble sighting in Candeleros Pass. I have it plotted in on the GPS. It looks vaguely like the map indicated things are supposed to. Low land forms distort the image of the maps.
We could well have stayed longer at Agua Verde, but the lure of getting back into contact with family lures us to Puerto Escondido. There seems to be no marina, but there is a pool, wifi and stores. It is time to check the bank accounts and mind the office.
Again, this morning I am in shorts. I do have a light sweatshirt on as the morning is a little cool. The day promises to be another hot one we are beginning to take for granted here in Mexico.
