Cathy and Reno aboard Star. They are a very special couple.

We are at anchor in a broad rolling roadstead anchorage on Isla San Jose across from Nopolo. We have finished a fun evening with Cathy and Reno aboard Star.
We stayed at Marina Costa Lotta until 0600 this morning. We left in the dark. We were in gloomy light by 0620 though. Things got into a routine at Marina Costa Baja: in the mornings we would go shopping or do boat projects. In the afternoons we would swim in the pool and lounge in the hot tub. We would watch the sunsets from the hot tub. Often the restaurant folks would try to give us the bums rush as they pack it up at 1800. The sun would go down at 1830, so we liked to hang in for the extra half hour. Pretty soon, they gave up and went home to leave us to the pool by ourselves. We would eat a late dinner, watch a movie and go to bed.
Today was day one of a three day window of light N winds. Tomorrow there will be light Southerly. We might even get the spinnaker up! We were able to contact Star about Isla San Francisco. They gave us GPS coordinates and we were able to find them easily. We had a wonderful supper with them and we played our instruments for a while around sunset. We are home on Karina at 2045 and getting things ready for the night. We will be up early for another long day of travel tomorrow.

We were up at 0600 and got going right away. We motored all the way to Agua Verde in mostly flat conditions. As we rounded the point to head W into Agua Verde, we stumbled a little too close to the reef that is off the point. We got down to 13' of water. Creepy. Anyhow, we didn't touch bottom, so all's well that ends well.
We arrived here at 1320. We are going to walk the town after Anita finishes a snack.

We left for Puerto Escondido the next morning. We encountered a variety of conditions on our way up: from flat calm to 30 knots from the W. All of the conditions were short lived. The 30 Knots from the West was the most troublesome. We found less wind and flatter seas closer to shore.
We arrived in PE (3/07) in the morning and, after a brief howdy to Angelos, we made our way to the fuel float and then a mooring. As the day went on, things got steadily windier. I was glad to have made it to PE as the wind was well into the 30s yesterday. It would have been a pretty difficult time if we had to weather the Norther from Agua Verde.
Today is a little more settled. The winds are in the 20s here in the harbour. We walked in to the tiende and got some soya sauce for the left over stir fry I'm eating for lunch. Kip and Mary are coming over for games this afternoon and we are having a salad and chilli supper.
