Into the water

We splashed into the water this morning. The stuffing box was just right, so no adjustments had to be made there. Right now, Omar and his helper are trying to fugure out what they did to take the transmission out so they can put it back together again. Alignment is such a finicky job.
Instead of being at B-12, like we were expecting, we have been placed in B-5. It is a little closer to the ramp, so its easy for us to come and go.
The trailer to launch us was uncharacteristically early this morning (0745). Since the trailer had all night for the bottom paint to dry on the pads, the pads cradled Karina C gently and we didn't loose too much paint.
Dan and Deb (of Caper) met us at the dock with their trusty little 6 hp dinghy and, without too much fuss, powered us to our slip.

We have adjusted to life here in the marina. Unfortunately, the adjustment on Karina will take some time. Right now, my car keys have gone missing. We are getting by with the spare set, but I will rejoice when/if I get the originals back.
This afternoon we went into Guaymas to visit our fast dwindling financial ship of state. The VISA for this month will look good as we get by on cash rather than credit cards. Consequently, the adjustment means there is one month where it seems like we are bleeding profusely at the pocketbook.
We stopped by LEY and got some tacos for supper. Yum! After supper, I am going to Barracuda Bob's and get some net time. Anita will stay on Karina and straighten up things. At the same time, she will hunt for the missing car keys.
Omar (our mechanic) has discovered the American price structure for his services. Consequently, putting the transmission back in cost 3 times what it cost to take it out. Still, its a bargain at Canadian prices. The new transmission doesn't bang or complain. Its going to be an adjustment.
Late development. Anita found the keys in the clothing bag where I laid my sweatpants yesterday. Hooray!
